IBEW Local Unions Savings & Security Plan 

There is no “one-size-fits-all” solution to retirement investing. That’s why the IBEW Local Unions Savings & Security Plan offers a broadly diversified array of investment options. The Plan investment options are carefully selected and monitored to provide the flexibility to respond to changing markets, investment objectives and life circumstances.

The Plan offers five Elite Index Portfolios and eleven core fund options that you can select from to suit your needs.

Elite Index Portfolios
The Elite Index Portfolios are professionally managed strategic allocations of primarily no-load, index mutual funds* from the Vanguard Group. See this fact sheet for more information. Core Fund Options
The eleven core fund options listed below, feature low annual expenses with no upfront or withdrawal charges,* allowing you to put more of your money to work for your future. This diversified menu of funds spans a wide array of investment types and asset classes providing the ingredients to construct an investment portfolio to pursue virtually any investment objective. You can determine your own fund mix, or you can use Scarborough’s sample investment mixes to help you diversify your account according to your individual risk tolerance. The Vanguard 500 Index Fund Admiral Shares™ [1](VFIAX*) employs an indexing investment approach designed to track the performance of the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index, a widely recognized benchmark of U.S. stock market performance that is dominated by the stocks of large U.S. companies. The fund attempts to replicate the index by investing in all, or substantially all of the stocks that make up the index, holding each stock in approximately the same proportion as its weighting in the index. CLICK to download the fact sheet.

The Dodge & Cox Stock Fund™ (DODGX*) seeks long-term growth of principal and income. A secondary objective is to achieve a reasonable current income. The Fund invests in a broadly diversified portfolio of common stocks that appear to be temporariy undervalued but have strong underlying financial conditions and have a favorable outlook for growth. CLICK to download the fact sheet.

The Vanguard PRIMECAP Fund Admiral Shares™ [1] (VPMAX*) seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing in stocks of companies with above-average prospects for continued earnings growth, strong industry positions, and skilled management teams. The T. Rowe Price Mid-Cap Value Fund™(TRMIX*) seeks long-term growth of capital by investing primarily in the common stocks of medium-sized companies that appear undervalued. The Fund will normally invest at least 80% of its net assets in companies whose market capitalization falls within the S&P Mid-Cap 400 Index or the Russell Mid-Cap Value Index. The Vanguard Explorer Fund Admiral Shares™ [1] (VEXRX*) seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing mainly in the stocks of smaller companies (which, at the time of purchase, typically have a market value of less than $2 billion). The FMI International Fund (FMIYX) is a Foreign Large Blend fund, which invests in the largest international stocks across several developed markets with less than 20% of assets invested in U.S. stocks. Cohen & Steers Institutional Realty Shares Fund (CSRIX*) seeks maximum return through both current income and capital appreciation by investing in real estate securities, primarily real estate investment trusts (REIT’s). They believe that dividends provide an important part of an investment’s total return and overall diversification has been the foundation of their portfolio strategies. CLICK to download the fact sheet.

The PIMCO Income Fund (PIMIX*) is a multisector bond fund, which seeks income by diversifying their assets among several fixed income sectors. This includes U.S. and foreign government bonds, domestic and foreign corporate bonds including high yield securities. The MFS® International New Discovery Fund (R6) (MIDLX*) is a Foreign Small/Mid Growth fund, which invests in international stocks that are smaller and growing faster than other stocks, with less than 20% of assets invested in U.S. stocks. The team seeks capital appreciation by keeping an emphasis on companies believed to compound growth at above-average rates over a long time horizon. CLICK to download the fact sheet.

The Dodge and Cox Income Fund (DODIX*) is an Intermediate-Term Bond Fund which invests in a diversified portfolio consisting primarily of high-quality bonds and other fixed-income securities. The Fund seeks a high and stable rate of current income, consistent with long-term preservation of capital. A secondary objective is to take advantage of opportunities to realize capital appreciation.  The managers also place an emphasis on income as a driver of total returns. Stable Value Fund™ seeks to preserve your principal investment while offering a steady rate of return. The fund invests in a diversified group of high-quality, fixed-income investments consisting of debt securities that are intended to minimize market volatility. In addition, the fund seeks to maintain a stable price with the principal preservation feature provided by contracts issued by highly rated banks and insurance companies. CLICK to download the fact sheet.

SELF DIRECTED ACCOUNT
In addition to the investment options listed above, the Plan offers the opportunity to invest in additional mutual funds and other investments such as stocks, bonds, certificates of deposits (CDs), and exchange traded funds through a Self Directed Account (SDA) inside the IBEW Local Unions Savings and Security Plan. The Self Directed Account uses the TD Ameritrade brokerage platform. You can invest up to 25% of your account value with a minimum investment of $10,000.
